Olive oil represents the third most-exported Spanish agri-food product, with over 150 destination countries and a favorable trade balance that contributes to the positive balance of the entire agri-food sector.
The main destinations for Spanish olive oil are: Italy and the United States.
In addition, in the 2020/21 season, the volume exported to the USA increased significantly (+49%).

Regionally, olive oil production is located in Andalusia, with 80% of the total, where Jaén is the main producing province, with approximately 37% of the total, followed by Castile-La Mancha with 8% and Extremadura with 4% of the national total.
