Goya Spain, present at the Closing Ceremony of the Year of EVOO in Seville

On December 4, the Cruzcampo Foundation in Seville hosted the closing ceremony of the Year of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO), an initiative promoted by the Sevillian Academy of Gastronomy and Tourism and the DO Estepa, to highlight this pillar of the local gastronomy and culture.

The event was chaired by Julio Moreno, president of the Sevillian Academy of Gastronomy and Tourism, and José María Loring, head of the Regulatory Council of the Estepa Denomination of Origin, who reviewed the achievements made during this 2024 dedicated to EVOO.

With Goya España as one of its sponsors, the closing ceremony brought together numerous attendees, with the participation of the territorial delegate of Tourism, Culture and Sport of the Junta de Andalucía, Carmen Ortiz; and the writer Antonio García Barbeito, who gave the closing speech “Bendito Aceite”, highlighting the cultural and gastronomic importance of olive oil as an emblem of the province and the Mediterranean Diet.

During the year 2024, declared the Year of EVOO in Seville, numerous promotional and dissemination activities have been carried out: visits to olive oil mills, tasting days, colloquiums and educational events that have highlighted the richness and diversity of Extra Virgin Olive Oil of Andalusian origin.
