At Goya España we support the initiative of Goya Puerto Rico to distribute nutritious lunches and meals to over 3,000 peoples forced evacuate their homes due to Hurricane Fiona and rehouse in isolated shelters and communities.
The 15 municipalities where Goya is providing assistance are Cayey, Salinas, Comerío, Guánica, Guayanilla, Loíza, Utuado, Jayuya, Adjuntas, Hormigueros, San Germán, Yabucoa, Cabo Rojo, Lajas and Ponce.
As highlighted by Carlos A. Unanue, chairman of Goya Puerto Rico “we have coordinated this distribution with mayors, parishes and community representatives as they know first-hand where help is needed most”.
Over the course of the next week, two municipalities will be served every day with lunches or dinners for 400 people, including a nutritious GOYA Creole dish prepared by chef Juan Mora.
Here in Spain, we are proud of initiatives like this one and we hope that those affected by the hurricane receive the help they need so they can return to normality as soon as possible.
