The International Olive Council (IOC) has announced the winners of the 25th edition of its Mario Solinas Quality Awards. Out of the six established categories, Goya España’s factory located in Alcalá de Guadaíra (Seville), has emerged as 1st Finalist in the Extra Virgin Olive Oil Packers Category for its Extra Virgin Olive Oil GOYA® Unico.
With this recognition, Goya Unico consolidates its presence among the best oils in the world, after being distinguished for the third consecutive year: 1st Prize in 2023; 2nd Finalist in 2024, and 1st Finalist in the 2025 edition, which coincides with the 25th anniversary of the contest.
Goya Unico, made from a careful selection of Hojiblanca and Picuda olives harvested at their optimum ripening point in Andalusia, stands out for its balanced sensory profile, aromatic complexity and purity of flavor.
Recognition for quality
This important international recognition reinforces Goya’s commitment to excellence, quality and innovation in the production of extra virgin olive oils. As Antonio Carrasco, General Manager of Goya España, points out: “We are very proud to receive this award from the International Olive Council, which recognizes the dedication of Goya España since its foundation in 1974 in Alcalá Guadaíra (Seville), for bottling extra virgin olive oils made from the best olives harvested in the olive groves of southern Spain”.
The Mario Solinas Quality Awards, considered the “Oscars” of extra virgin olive oil, represent the highest distinction awarded by the IOC, a world reference body in the olive oil sector. In the 2025 edition, a total of 130 extra virgin olive oils from eleven countries were submitted: Algeria, China, Croatia, Spain, France, Greece, Italy, Morocco, Portugal, Tunisia and Turkey.
This award is added to the more than 500 international awards and recognitions that endorse the quality and prestige of Goya olive oils, consolidating them as a worldwide reference.
