Last November 28, the Assembly Hall of the Polytechnic School of Engineering hosted the closing ceremony of the 2023-2024 academic year, which included the presentation of the II Awards of the Chair “Engineering in the Agri-Food Industry – Goya Antonio Unanue”.
- The Best TFE Award, endowed with 1000 €, went to the work “Development of hybrid hydrogels based on chitosan and gelatin Type A”, by the student Carmen María Granados Carrera.
- The prize for the Best Doctoral Thesis, with an endowment of 1,500 €, went to the work “Valorization of rice bran for the development of biomass-based materials”, by María Alonso González.
As highlighted by the director of the Goya Chair, Amalia Luque, throughout these two years, the Chair has strived to promote teaching and interdisciplinary research activities linked to the agri-food industry, aimed at studying the reality, problems and prospects for the development of new strategies and technologies in this field.
In addition to the academic awards, the “Goya Antonio Unanue” Chair includes an extensive program of activities to promote the transfer of knowledge. The “Engineering Projects in Action Classroom Permanent Seminar” programmed a series of conferences given by specialists from the industrial, research and business sectors related to the Chair’s scope.
